 THE SANGHA NEEDS YOUR HELP THIS SUNDAY AT 5:30 P.M. DURING "Peace is Every Step"
 
If you would like to volunteer to help us out during the Peace Is Every Step Event, we do need your help! 
 
Please arrive by 5:30 P.M. so you can help us set up and 
 
Consider volunteering for any of the following tasks:


Helping setting up
Greeting people arriving at the theater
Greeting and accommodating monastics into their special seating area inside the theater
Manning the Registration and Greeting table
Collecting and exchanging tickets 
Staffing the Mindfulness Bell/Parallax Press table 
Operating the Silent Auction table 
Working the T-Shirt table 
Managing the Food and Beverages table
Helping picking up
***Please remember to wear your Sangha T-Shirt if you have one so that you can be easily identified as a member of a Thich Nhat Hanh Sangha.***

THIS WEEKENDSunday, July 20 - 6pmPeace is Every StepReception, Film, and discussion Peace Is Every Step is an intimate and direct portrait of a monk who has lived through war and fought back with meditation, love and grace under fire, testimony to the faith that simple practices and insights drawn from (but not by any means limited to) the Buddhist meditative tradition can help change conditions for the better: on a personal level, in the family, in the community, in a nation and in the world.  Narrated by Academy Award®-winner Ben Kingsley. Filmed on location in Plum Village, France; Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C. and at retreats around the U.S. • Plus: rare archival footage from Vietnam in the 1960s and appearances by Joan Halifax, Claude Anshin Thomas, Stephen Batchelor and other well-known authors and activists.The celebration starts at 6pm with a delicious international Vegetarian Food Tasting provided by well-known local restaurants. Venerable Brother Thich Huong Hue will provide a Dharma Lecture describing his experience living and working with Thây Thich Nhẩt Hạnh in Plum Village, France. We will end the celebration with a Bonus Screening of "Each of My Steps is a Prayer",a Documentary film about Zen Master Thich Nhẩt Hạnh's 2007 return to Vietnam.Proceeds benefit non-profit organizations including Thây Thich Nhẫt Hạnh's and Sister Chan Khong's Love and Understanding Program (feeding and educating underprivileged preschoolers in Vietnam) as well as The Vietnamese Buddhist Cultural Center of Florida and The Broward Lotus Sangha offering free meditation and mindfulness programs in the State of Florida.Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
As this event is not presented by FLIFF, membership discounts do not apply
