Join us for mindfulness practice in the Tradition of Zen Master Thích Nhất
Hạnh   * *

The *Broward Lotus Sangha* (*BLS*) is a Community of Mindful Living in the
tradition of *Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh*, who was nominated by Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. for the Nobel Peace Price back in the 60s when they were
working together to build *The Beloved Community*, promote Peace on Earth
and end the war in Vietnam. A *“Sangha”* is a community of practitioners
that gets together to meditate, practice mindfulness, support its members’
spiritual practice, and socialize with a focus. Throughout our practice, we
emphasize the cultivation of *Smirti* (Mindfulness),
*Samadhi*(Concentration), and
*Prajna* (Insight), and endeavor to live in harmony and awareness. To learn

*We meet the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month from 6:30 PM to
8:30 PM *(and
other times as stated in our *Calendar of Events* *

around 6:00 PM to set up and practitioners are invited to mindfully arrive
by 6:15 PM so they can find a comfortable place to sit and relax while
listening to the music. Silent meditation starts at 6:30 PM. If you arrive
after that, please come in quietly. (We will be talking again by about
7:00). Feel free to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring your
favorite seating arrangement (some are provided). For directions, please

At the end of the meditation gathering we usually share some tea and treats
and, whenever possible, go out to dinner nearby afterwards.  *In order to be
kind to the Earth Mother, please bring your own non-disposable teacup* *and
whatever healthy vegetarian treats or teas you wish to share with the
Sangha.*

*NEW DIRECTIONS TO BROWARD LOTUS SANGHA* 7185 PEMBROKE ROAD PEMBROKE PINES,
FL 33023 The Broward Lotus Sangha meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of
the month at Po Chi Lam Training Center, Inc., located on the Northeast
corner of Pembroke Road and 72nd Avenue, across the street from North Perry
Airport in the Plaza with the Valero Gas Station. This location is easily
accessible from the Hollywood/Pines Boulevard Exits off of I-95, I-75, and
FL Turnpike or the University Dr. Exit off of I-595 (we are located between
University Drive and the Florida Turnpike).  *FROM THE SOUTH*:

Take I-95 North to Golden Glades Interchange. Take Turnpike North to
Homestead Extension Exit (Exit 4X, the one right after Miami
Dolphins/Pro-Player Stadium). Continue through exit to N.W. 27th
Ave./University Dr. exit which will be on your right-hand side.  Make a LEFT
(North) on University Dr.  When you reach Pembroke Road make a RIGHT (East).
Make a LEFT (North) onto 72nd Avenue and the entrance to the Plaza will be
immediately to your RIGHT. Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind the Valero Gas
Station.
*FROM THE SOUTHWEST*:

Take Turnpike North to Red Road Exit. Continue through exit to Red Road. At
the traffic light on Red Road make a LEFT (North). When you reach Pembroke
Road make a RIGHT (East). Continue on Pembroke Road past University Dr.  Make
a LEFT (North) onto 72nd Avenue and the entrance to the Plaza will be
immediately to your RIGHT. Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind the Valero Gas
Station.

Take I-75 North to Miramar Parkway Exit EAST. Continue on Miramar Parkway
until you reach University Dr. Make a LEFT on University Dr. (North). When
you reach Pembroke Road make a RIGHT (East).  Make a LEFT (North) onto
72ndAvenue and the entrance to the Plaza will be immediately to your
RIGHT. Look
for 7185 on your LEFT behind the Valero Gas Station.

*FROM THE NORTH OR NORTHEAST**: *

Take I-95 South OR Turnpike South to Hollywood/Pines Boulevard Exit. Go WEST
to 72nd Avenue and turn LEFT (South).  Make a LEFT onto the entrance to the
Plaza just before you reach Pembroke Road. Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind
the Valero Gas Station.

Take I-595 to University Dr. Exit, and turn SOUTH (LEFT if coming from the
East; RIGHT if coming from the West). Continue on Pembroke Road and make a
LEFT (East). Make a LEFT (North) onto 72nd Avenue and the entrance to the
Plaza will be immediately to your RIGHT. Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind
the Valero Gas Station.

*FROM THE NORTHWEST OR THE WEST COAST**: *

Take I-75 South to Pines Boulevard Exit EAST. Continue on to University Dr.
and turn RIGHT (South). When you reach Pembroke Road make a LEFT (East).
Continue on Pembroke Road and make a LEFT (East). Make a LEFT (North) onto
72nd Avenue and the entrance to the Plaza will be immediately to your RIGHT.
Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind the Valero Gas Station.

Take I-595 to University Dr. Exit and turn SOUTH (LEFT if coming from the
East; RIGHT if coming from the West). Continue on Pembroke Road and make a
LEFT (East). Make a LEFT (North) onto 72nd Avenue and the entrance to the
Plaza will be immediately to your RIGHT. Look for 7185 on your LEFT behind
the Valero Gas Station.
