The Broward Lotus Sangha will be meeting today for mindfulness meditation
practice with Special Guest Teacher Jeff Roth

Instead, we are meeting At ArtServe (1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort
Lauderdale-see below for directions) as we are expecting a much larger
number of people to attend that would fit in our regular meditation hall: *We
already have over 80 confirmed registrations* [image: laughing]

*Our special guest teacher this evening is Rabbi Jeff Roth*, a long time
student of Dr. Sylvia Boorstein, is founder and director of the *Awakened
Heart Project*. His teachings offer a fresh take on meditation that focuses
on using the distilled wisdom of Judaism and Buddhism as a way to learn from
life experience. By combining these two traditions, he presents a model that
allows Westerners of all backgrounds to embrace timeless Eastern teachings
without sacrificing their birth traditions.  During this special gathering
we will enjoy sitting and walking meditation, as well as a Dharma Talk and a
period of Questions and Answers by *Rabbi Jeff Roth*.

Please be punctual. We will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. (It would be
advisable to arrive by 6:15 p.m. in order to give yourself a chance to
mindfully find our new location and a place to seat. Feel free to bring your
favorite seating arrangement or use the chairs provided.

Luther King Jr. for the Nobel Peace Price back in the 60s when they were
working together to build *The Beloved Community*, promote Peace on Earth
and end the war in Vietnam. A *“Sangha”* is a community of practitioners

*We meet the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month from 6:30 PM to
8:30 PM *(and

around 6:00 PM to set up and practitioners are invited to arrive by 6:15 PM
so they can say 'hello', find a comfortable place to sit and relax.  Feel
free to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring your favorite
seating arrangement (For your convenience, chairs are provided and a limited
number of Zafus and Zabutons are available on a first come, first served
basis).
