Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Hugh
Taylor Birch State
Park<http://www.meetup.com/Lotus-Institute-For-Mindful-Living/venue/481795/?forceUrlname=true&pop=true>is
an oasis of tropical hammocks right across from Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Visitors can rent a canoe and paddle along a mile-long freshwater lagoon or
fish from the seawall. Nature lovers can hike along two short trails and
learn about local plants and wildlife while bicyclists and skaters glide
along the paved park road. Visitors can access the beach via the pedestrian
tunnel under A1A. The Terramar Visitor Center features displays regarding
the area's natural and cultural history and General Tours (including live
animal presentations of native Florida wildlife)
Start out your day on the beach in front of Birch State Park and assist with
a Sunrise Native American Medicine Wheel at 6:50am (Located on the beach
across from the park's Beach Tunnel access area). Yoga class at 8 am.

Take Ranger-Guided Walks through the beautiful Tropical Hammocks of Birch
State Park. Participate in Mindful Environmental Activities, Ecological and
Educational Presentations. Tour an off-grid Airstream. Listen to Live,
Multi-cultural Musical Entertainment.

Bring the Kids out this holiday weekend for Mindful Environmental Activities
such as a multi-stationed Bio-Blitz, Native Tree Plantings and educational
fun. Junior Park Ranger guided tours. Free Canoeing. Beach Scavenger Hunts.
Eco Games And More!

VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE TOO!
